The Aelous International Competition for Wind Instruments

The Aeolus Competition enjoys an international reputation.

Its purpose is to close a gap in the music world, because wind players rarely have the opportunity to demonstrate their skills in competitions. To give as many talents as possible a chance, the categories of the competition change every year.

In total, the competition covers nine wind instruments: Bassoon, oboe, saxophone, tuba, trumpet, trombone, flute, horn and clarinet. Prize money of € 60,000 awaits the young musicians.

The competition is part of the  Fédération Mondiale des Concours Internationaux de Musique. It unites the most prestigious competitions in the world.
