Assistant Professor for Live Sound
Reinhard Klose, born 1958, finished his apprenticeship in the recording department at EMI Electrola, Cologne, in 1980. Since 1981, Mr. Klose is working as a freelance sound engineer and sound master in live sound. In 1993, he received the SIM® System II Operator certificate by MEYER SOUND in Berkeley, USA.
Reinhard Klose is working as a live sound master of the Paul Kuhn Big Band. Since 1994, he serves also as the live sound master for the WDR Big Band at their European, Asian and US-Tours. In 1999 Mr. Klose started working as a live sound master and head of production of the Colgogne-based A-cappella-Group Wise Guys. For the band, he wrote concepts for numerous events (e.g. at Tanzbrunnen/ Cologne, Philipshalle/ Düsseldorf and Ostseehalle/ Kiel). Between 1993 and 1996 he looked after the live sound at diverse MMC-productions, such as RTL Samstag Nacht, Stern TV, Plan International. From 1995 until 2000 Mr. Klose developed sound design for diverse musical productions at Theater Krefeld Mönchengladbach. Mr. Klose is a consultant and executive sound master at RuhrTriennale in Duisburg since 2005.
Reinhard Klose works on industrial-, radio play- and TV productions as a developing and executive producer. Clients include: Aral, Audi, Deutsche Telekom, Lanxess, McKinsey, SWF, ZDF, SFB, BR, SR, RTL, SAT 1 and many festivals. He is looking after sounding bodies and artists alike, such as Günter Noris Big Band, Schumann-Camerata, Düsseldorf, Bremer Philharmoniker, Karlheinz Stockhausen and Peter Alexander.
Additionally, Mr. Klose writes live sound system concepts for redecorated venues such as the Dortmund Opera, Schauspiel Dortmund Theatre, Halle Münsterland and Forum Leverkusen. He advises in live sound questions for diverse biddings.
Since 1993, Reinhard Klose teaches Live Sound at the ARD. ZDF Media Academy in Nuernberg and since 2006 at the Institute For Music And Media of the University of Music Duesseldorf.
