Dipl.Ing. Martin Störkmann

Martin Störkmann, born 1965, studied musicology at the University of Cologne from 1986 to 1987. In 1987 he started studying Communications Engineering at the University of Applied Sciences Niederrhein. He graduated in 1996.

Already during his studies Martin Störkmann was part of the electronic reporting team for RTL as a camera and sound assistant. Until 1996 he helped out as an assistant engineer at the German Television News Agency in Duesseldorf by building up the studio, the control room and the editing suite. There he also started his career in 1996 as a video and broadcasting engineer of the TV broadcaster The Weather Channelwith Jörg Kachelmann. 

In 1998 he took on the position of the head broadcasting engineer for the broadcast signal processing at the niche broadcaster Nickelodeonuntil the end of the broadcaster's transmittance. Until 1999 Martin Störkmann worked as a presentation engineer in the fields of studio engineering, resort broadcasting operations/ broadcasting video operation at RTL in Cologne. 

Since 1999 Martin Störkmann has been employed as a service engineer in the video department of the program Audio and Video Engineering and since its foundation at the Institute For Music And Media of the University of Music Duesseldorf.

His field of work includes the concept, technical supervision and maintenance of the professional and sectoral digital film editing equipments, technical supervision and maintenance of fixed and mobile central control rooms, video studios and the administration of the Institute's network.
