Requirements for the Guitar major

1) Guitar Major
For the bachelor program of studies Music and Music Promotion: As part of the artistic proficiency test, at least three works from three different style periods are to be performed (Renaissance, Baroque, Classical, Romantic, Spanish-Latin American repertoire and New Music).

The examining board reserves the right to make a selection from the pieces so that the total audition time does not exceed 10 minutes.

2a) Minor (Guitar program): Wind instrument, string instrument, piano or voice
Two pieces of the musician’s choice.

2b) Minor (Music Pedagogy program): Melody instrument or voice

Two pieces of the musician’s choice.

Music and Media and Audio and Video

At least three works from different periods are required and the pieces should have a degree of difficulty in the upper middle range.

The following pieces demonstrate the degree of difficulty required for the works that are to be played. John Dowland: Dances (e.g., Universal Edition)/S. L. Weiss: Fantasie/J. S. Bach: a movement from a suite (lute suite, cello suite, violin partita or violin sonata)/Fernando Sor: an op. 35 étude/Heitor Villa-Lobos: one of the 5 preludes, étude no. 8 or étude no. 11, chorus no. 1/Francisco Tárrega: preludes (e.g., Adelita, Marieta, Mazurka), Capricho Arabe/Leo Brouwer: Selection from Etudes Simples, Elogio de la Danza.

In the Music and Media as well as Audio and Video bachelor's programs, there is no minor subject examination.
