Requirements for the Orchestral Instruments master’s program – Harp major

The following works must be prepared for the Performance master’s program proficiency test:

For prospective Orchestra majors:
1. G. F. Handel: Concerto in B flat major
2. C. Ph. E. Bach: Sonata in G Major or C. Debussy: Danses pour Harpe
3. G. Fauré: Impromptu or L. Spohr: Fantasie or P. Hindemith: Sonata
4. Three orchestra passages: a) R. Wagner: Tannhäuser, Act 1, scene 2, verses 1 and 2 b) P. Tchaikovsky: Swan Lake cadenza c) I. Stravinsky: Symphony in 3 movements, 2nd mvt

For Chamber Music majors:
1. G. F. Handel: Concerto in B flat major C. Ph. E. Bach: Sonata in G major
2. M. Ravel: Introduction et Allegro or C. Debussy: Danses pour Harpe
3. A virtuoso piece of the candidate’s choice

For prospective Music Promotion majors: a short, artistically prepared introduction (of about 5 minutes) to the program of the proficiency test

The examining boards reserve the right to make a selection from the pieces.
