Requirements for the Violin major
1) Violin major
1. A slow and a fast movement from the sonatas and partitas for solo violin by J. S. Bach
2. The opening movement of a violin concerto by W. A. Mozart (with cadenza)
3. A Romantic or contemporary work, preferably the opening movement from a major Romantic violin concerto or comparable piece.
2) Minor: Piano
Two pieces of the musician’s choice.
Music and Media as well as Audio and Video
1. A slow and a fast movement from a Baroque work
2. A Classical movement of the musician’s choice
3. A piece from the Romantic or contemporary period of the musician’s choice.
The examining board reserves the right to make a selection from the pieces.
In the Music and Media as well as Audio and Video bachelor's programs, there is no minor subject examination.
Music Education
In Music Education, the profiency test includes a music pedagogical colloquium in addition to the musical performance.
The
topics discussed here include the motivation to study instrumental
pedagogy, the significance of music and making music for life, and the
personal meaning and expressive content of the pieces performed for the
applicants.
