Requirements for the Guitar master’s program.
The following works must be prepared for the Performance master’s proficiency test:
For prospective Performance Solo A majors: Flamenco, South American folklore, arranging:
1. A slow and fast movement from a suite, partita or sonata by J. S. Bach
2. The opening movement of a sonata
3. A work composed after 1960
4. The opening movement of a guitar concerto
For prospective Performance Solo B majors: Early Music/New Music:
1. A slow and fast movement from a suite, partita or sonata by J. S. Bach
2. The opening movement of a sonata
3. A work composed after 1960
4. The opening movement of a guitar concerto
For prospective Ensemble/Chamber Music majors:
1. A slow and a fast movement from a suite, partita or sonata by J. S. Bach
2. The opening movement of a sonata
3. A work composed after 1960
4. Two chamber music pieces of the player’s choice from different style periods
For Music Promotion majors: a short, artistically prepared introduction to the program of the proficiency test (about 5 minutes)
The examining board reserves the right to make a selection from the pieces.
