Bettina Kelm, born in Düsseldorf in 1965, studied English and German Language and Literature from 1985 to 1991 at the Heinrich-Heine University in Düsseldorf. During a year abroad in England, she first learned about yoga and then the Feldenkrais Method. In 1991, she left the university (without graduating) to pursue her interest in body action and somatic forms of learning, undergoing training as a physiotherapist from 1993 to 1995 in Duisburg. As a physiotherapist, she worked for a number of years in an outpatient neurological rehabilitation clinic in Düsseldorf. Parallel to this, she went through training in the Feldenkrais Method from 1999 to 2002 in Amsterdam.

Since 2005, Bettina Kelm has been operating her own practice for the Feldenkrais Method and physiotherapy in Düsseldorf, with an extensive range of treatment courses available.

Since 2008, Bettina Kelm has been teaching at the Robert Schumann University in Düsseldorf, and since 2009 she has been at the Institute For Music And Media, where she introduces students to the Feldenkrais Method in the basic module entitled Sensory Development.
