Master’s degree courses

The Master's program lasts four semesters and builds on an undergraduate study program. The prerequisite for admission is a bachelor degree or graduation from a traditional, single-stage academic program (e.g. German Diplom degree). According to its focus, a Master's program can involve artistic or scientific deepening of earlier studies or the study of new areas of knowledge.

The four semester Master's program “Orchestral Performance” prepares graduates of music colleges in a focused and practical way for a career as orchestral musicians. The Orchesterzentrum is a joint institution of the four colleges of music of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia and is Europe’s first inter-institutional educational center for prospective orchestra musicians

Anyone who wishes to study at the Robert Schumann School of Music and Media is required to take an entrance exam and verify Proficiency in German.
