The Opera Class
Love, power and passion: The fascination of the opera remains unbroken. Who isn’t ready to be carried away into the glittering world of staged music drama?
Opera holds a special fascination for students at the Robert Schumann Hochschule. By taking part in the opera master class they learn to work under real-world conditions. The curriculum includes areas such as acting lessons, instruction in scene blocking, the study of movement, Italian and French pronunciation and Italian.
Professor Thomas Gabrisch, head of the opera master class, has successfully produced an opera in each academic year since 1995. The class stages the productions in cooperation with the Deutsche Oper am Rhein in Düsseldorf.
