Requirements for the Cello major

1) Cello major
Three works from three different style periods must be prepared for the performance proficiency audition, including
     1. A slow and a fast movement from one of the Bach solo suites
     2. The opening movement from a classical concerto (e.g., Boccherini, Haydn)
     3. A Romantic or contemporary work, preferably a movement from a concerto
        (e.g., Saint-Saens, Lalo, Dvořák, Shostakovich) or an étude (e.g., Popper, Piatti, Grützmacher).

The examining boards reserve the right to make a selection from the pieces.

2) Minor: Piano
Two piece of the musician’s choice.
In the Music and Media as well as Audio and Video bachelor's programs, there is no minor subject examination.

Music Education
In Music Education, the profiency test includes a music pedagogical colloquium in addition to the musical performance.
The

topics discussed here include the motivation to study instrumental

pedagogy, the significance of music and making music for life, and the

personal meaning and expressive content of the pieces performed for the

applicants.
