Requirements for the Piano master’s program.
Master of Music / Major in Piano
1. Preselection
For the pre-selection, a total of 3 uncut videos showing artistic presentations have to be submitted with the application. The total duration of the 3 videos should not exceed 20 minutes. The following requirements apply:
- Three representative works of free choice, including a virtuoso etude. 3 uncut videos. Excerpts are allowed.
2. Live Audition
The live audition includes the following parts:
- Artistic presentation: the same repertoire requirements apply as in the preselection. In addition, a movement of a piano concerto and a representative modern work from the last 50 years must be prepared. The same works may be presented as in the preselection. The works have to be prepared entirely.
- A short reflective talk related to the artistic presentation.
The examination board reserves the right to make a selection from the prepared pieces.
A pianist will be provided for the accompaniment of the piano concerto; it is also permitted to bring your own pianist.
