Requirements for the Piano major
Bachelor of Music / Piano Major
1. Preselection
For the pre-selection, a total of 4 uncut videos showing artistic presentations have to be submitted with the application. The total duration of the 4 videos should not exceed 20 minutes. The following requirements apply:
- A polyphonic work of free choice. Excerpts are allowed. 1 uncut video.
- The 1st movement of a classical sonata of free choice. Excerpts e.g. only exposition or exposition and development are allowed. 1 uncut video.
- A virtuoso etude of free choice. 1 uncut video.
- One work of free choice. Excerpts allowed. 1 uncut video.
2. Live Audition
The live audition includes the following parts:
- Artistic presentation in the piano major: the same repertoire requirements apply as in the preselection. The same works may be presented as in the preselection. The works have to be prepared entirely.
- Artistic presentation in the minor (on a wind/-string instrument or as a singer): One piece of your choice has to be prepared.
- A short reflective talk related to the artistic presentation.
The examination board reserves the right to make a selection from the prepared pieces.
After passing the live audition:
Written exams in music theory and aural skill training.
