Opera class

Love, power and passion: The compelling fascination of opera remains unbroken. Who isn’t willing to be carried away into the glittering world of staged music drama?

In the opera class, students learn to work under authentic conditions. The curriculum includes areas such as acting lessons, instruction in scene blocking, the study of movement, Italian and French diction, and Italian.

Every year since 1995 Professor Thomas Gabrisch, head of the opera master class, has successfully staged an opera production. The university stages the productions in cooperation with the Deutsche Oper am Rhein in Düsseldorf.
