Requirements for the Orchestral Instruments major – Viola major
Three works from three different style periods must be prepared for the performance proficiency audition for the master’s program.
For prospective Orchestra majors one of the three works must be a concerto from the audition repertoire (Hoffmeister, Stamitz, Bartók, Hindemith or Walton).
For prospective Chamber Music majors one of the three pieces must be a sonata for viola and piano.
For prospective Music Promotion majors: in addition to the three works, a short, artistically prepared introduction (of about 5 minutes) to the program of the proficiency test must be presented.
The examining board reserves the right to make a selection from the pieces.
