Markus Lehnert on the Johann Patroclus Möller organ

[Translate to Englisch:]

In November 2015, an organ production took place in the Benedictine Marienmünster Abbey. Markus Lehnert played a Bach-only recital on the Baroque Möller organ, of which 80% has been preserved in its original condition. The program included the Toccata and Fugue in D minor, the Trio Sonata in C major, the Fantasia in C minor and the Prelude and Fugue in B minor.

The goal of the production was a surround-sound recording which captured the authentic acoustics of the church and sound of the historical instrument, which still stands on the spot where it was originally built. In addition, the project was intended to capture the current state of the instrument in a modern recording.

For IMM student Armin Badde, who was the sound engineer for the project, the project was his final exam in the advanced-level Classical Music Production module.

In October 2016, the Motette label released a stereo CD of the production.
