Film Fantasies
Leon Brückner, who is studying Music and Media with a Media Composition concentration, took advantage of winning the main prize at the European Talent Award, a day recording with the WDR Funkhaus Orchestra, to make high-quality recordings of orchestral works.
The two pieces, developed as projects for his concentration, have no direct audiovisual reference, but play with topoi of film music.
Film Fantasy No. 1 brings together an imaginary story of dreams, threats, magical creatures, heroes, battles and ... awakening. Instrumentation, harmony and thematic and motivic work are based on the classic film composition style.
Film Fantasy No. 2: This tries not to depict narratives, but instead to create moods, and, in particular, is oriented more toward pop music structures in their form.
