ΚΑΘΑΡΣΙΣ (Catharsis)

The experimental dance music video ΚΑΘΑΡΣΙΣ (Katharsis) by Lydia Ramos explores the swansong theme – the beautiful and yet melancholy dance shortly before death.

A lone dancer who is trapped in a prison of plastic sheeting tries to escape with all her remaining strength. What will happen when she realizes that her resistance is in vain? When she is forced to admit that there is no way out?

The dancer Valeria Alvarado created a choreography to go with the composition by Martin Sadowski.

ΚΑΘΑΡΣΙΣ (Katharsis) by Lydia Ramos was an exam project for the Visual Music major at the Institute For Music And Media of the Robert Schumann Hochschule Düsseldorf. The project was supervised by Prof. Dr. Heike Sperling and Marcus Schmickler betreut.
