Raffael Seyfried

Raffael Seyfried was born in 1991. He studied Music and Media at the IMM of the Robert Schumann Hochschule Düsseldorf, majoring in Media Composition and Music Informatics. Since completing his studies in 2017 he has been working as a freelance composer in Düsseldorf.

In his work, Raffael Seyfried deals with the overlaps between acoustic and electronic material and the combination of traditional and experimental techniques. During his studies, he developed a continuing interest in algorithmic and analog sound synthesis.

He has been commissioned as a composer and orchestrator by international film and TV productions such as Gunpowder (BBC/HBO 2017), Patrick Melrose (Showtime 2018), Hotel Mumbai (2018) and Phenoms (FOX Sports 2018). In addition, he has composed music for various projects, including the radio feature “Mars Landing in Rio Tinto” (2018 DLF), the dance piece “Unbearable Darkness” (2018) and the sound performance “Murmur et Hum” (2018).

Raffael Seyfried is a member of the electronica group sine sleeper and the John Wayne on Acid band.

Since 2018, Raffael Seyfried has been assistant professor of Hybrid Sound Computing and Extended Systems at the IMM of the Robert Schumann Hochschule Düsseldorf.
